POSTY THE CARD

I named the postcard Posty, creative right? I thought so. Anyhoo, after playing around on Canva, a site where you can create advertisements, I was able to generate the back of the postcard. I split the back in half, the left half is the synopsis of the film giving the person a short insight of the film, and the second half is the time and date our short film will be presented at Sundance, a film festival in Utah. DISCLAIMER: The short film isn't actually being presented at the festival, so don't go looking for it. For the front, Eitan and I wanted to create a picture that makes it look that the shoes and socks are falling from the sky; it was quite difficult. Instead, Eitan and I placed the socks and shoes on the stairs and took the picture. I think it looks great, we had to play with the filters on Canva to illuminate the title that was layered on top of the picture. Finishing the postcard means we are finished with the project. The only thing Eitan and I have left is the CCR and we have about 3 days to do it. This project has been a crazy ride but I wouldn't trade it; I am proud of the work we have done. Well, wish me luck on the CCR!

CCR PLANS

Eitan and I are now close to the end and I think the work we have done will be worth it; I am proud of the work we have spent hours doing. Other than the postcard, Eitan and I each have to do a CCR, a Creative Critical Reflection. In this reflection, we discuss our project and answer the questions about our process. I think I will do the same thing that I did last year. For my AS level CCR, I did a screen recording of my laptop and showed different aspects of my project. I think I will do the same thing but this time plan a little more. Last year, I did my CCR last minute in a cold room and bad wifi reception. Due to the fact that it was freezing cold in the hotel room, my voice was a shaky and boring. This year, I will add sound effects and write out a script with funny jokes. Hopefully, it will turn out better than the one from last year because let me tell you, it was pretty bad. It is still surprising that the project is due next week; it felt like yesterday that is was just assigned. I really enjoyed working on it, and I know I'm not done yet, but it has been fun

ITS FRIDAY

Well actually it is Saturday but thats besides the point. On Friday, we had another class meeting. This is when we meet up in groups and ask about opinions on our project. I showed my group the website, postcard, and a couple clips of the film. They gave a couple of pointers, nothing major but they all seemed pretty excited to see the final result. However, in Eitan's group, they were more specific with their advice. First, our website has the full short film on it, they suggested only limiting it to a trailer like thing. A full length video would defeat the purpose of showing it at film festivals if anyone could just go see it on the website. Additionally, they disliked the post card. Now we have to redo the whole  postcard because they had several valid points about how it should look like. We now have less than a week to fix the postcard but I have faith that we will finish and by faith, I mean we have to figure it out. One of the major problems we are experiencing with the postcard is finding a photo that works well and hasn't been used on our website.  This has been proven difficult for the best picture of the sock and the shoe has already been put on the website. I think we will probably end up using it but I'm going to keep looking just in case I can find something as good or even better.

Until the next time, your friend,

THIS IS NEW

I wanted to be able to say we were ahead of schedule but I just checked and we are between on schedule and behind schedule. However, when we created the dates, we planned it so we would have plenty of time which we do. Eitan and I have made good progress throughout the course of this project. Im proud us, considering I tend to procrastinate doing my work.

We figured out the audio situation. Turns out we didn't need to create our own audio; I'm not sure why I thought that in the first place. Eitan and I found different songs on Killer Tracks that might have worked well for our short film. We ended up only using one song throughout the whole film. The songs gives the production a more serious tone which goes well with the message of the project.

Additionally, we finished editing in the audio and we fixed the title scene. Eitan and I showed our media teacher the first 20 seconds. We wanted to provide a sample that showed the audio, the cinematography, and the title scene. Our teacher had pointed out a few mistakes about our title scene. I just fixed these which marks another step closer to being completely finished. Eitan and I are meeting up in groups with our class to discuss our project, so maybe they will notice something that we have to fix too.

On Wednesday, we started working on the postcard. Eitan and I took a screenshot of one of the scenes in our film and created a seam border around the picture and in the empty space, we typed the title in. We asked a girl that sits in front of us and she said it look great so we moved onto the back which we have not finished. However, we are close, we just have to glam it up a bit.

Furthermore, the website it basically finished. I think I only have to send Eitan the final copy of the film so he can upload it to the website and then he can publish it. It is really exciting to be close to finishing and still having a little more than a week until the project is done.

THIS IS HARD

Do you know how hard it is to create music when you are musically challenged? I mean I can put sounds together and create something pretty decent but, for the life of me, I can't play an instrument. I mentioned on my post from Wednesday that I knew a few people who are extremely talented on the piano and I have a new found respect for them. Again, I can't ask them to create something for us because, well, it's rude. We have two weeks until the project is due which is a lot of time, considering we are almost done, but I'm starting to feel the clock ticking. This past week had been slow regarding the process of the project. I have been out of town throughout the week and this weekend has been filled with religious holidays and other activities. However, we planned for this and that is why Eitan and I worked hard to get as much done as possible before Spring Break. This week coming up should be filled with further progress of our project. By the end of the week, we hope to have the postcard and the website done, and hopefully, a little closer to figuring out the audio situation.

Until the next time, your friend,
